Schweizerhof Zermatt upgrades to Hotelwize Builder

Read time: 4 min

Schweizerhof Zermatt, part of Michel Reybier Hospitality, has moved schweizerhofzermatt.ch from WordPress to Hotelwize Builder. The upgrade raised its Google PageSpeed performance score from 58 to 99 and introduced new ways for guests to compare rates, find available dates and book multiple rooms directly.

For the marketing team, it also brings simpler content management across three languages, with less reliance on developers for everyday updates.

Why Schweizerhof Zermatt made the move

A luxury hotel website needs to express the character of the property and make booking a stay straightforward. Behind the scenes, the team needs to keep content, offers and integrations up to date without turning every change into a development project.

The previous WordPress setup required development work and ongoing plugin maintenance as requirements grew. The move to Hotelwize Builder brought the website and its hospitality integrations into a platform designed around hotel operations.

Hotelwize's catalogue of more than 130 hospitality plugins covers booking engines, analytics, guest chat, marketing tools and structured data. Managing these integrations within Hotelwize reduces the work involved in maintaining a separate collection of third-party components.

A PageSpeed score of 99

Following the migration, the website's Google PageSpeed performance score increased from 58 to 99. The new site also achieved a Lighthouse SEO score of 100.

For guests, faster pages mean less waiting as they explore rooms, discover the hotel's facilities and move towards a booking-particularly on mobile.

Clear answers for guests and AI assistants

The new website includes structured data for the hotel, rooms and suites, restaurant, bar, spa, offers and FAQs.

A well-written FAQ helps guests find the practical details that influence a booking: arrival arrangements, room options, dining, spa access and hotel policies. It also brings those answers together in a format that AI tools can more readily interpret when retrieving the hotel's website content.

Schema.org FAQPage markup adds an explicit structure to those visible questions and answers. For systems that process structured data, it identifies each question and its corresponding answer, making their relationship clear. Combined with structured information about the hotel, its accommodation and facilities, it provides additional context about what the content describes.

The aim is to make the hotel's own information clear, consistent and usable when people ask detailed questions about a stay. Accurate answers, descriptive headings and up-to-date content remain essential; structured data supports that foundation without guaranteeing inclusion or citations in AI-generated responses.

Compare rates without leaving the website

Guests often check several channels before deciding where to book. The Hotelwize Liquid Rate Shopper brings that comparison onto Schweizerhof Zermatt's own website, displaying rates from other channels alongside the direct rate.

Guests can assess their options while staying close to the hotel's content and direct booking journey.

Find another stay when the first dates are unavailable

An unavailable date should not have to end a booking search.

The booking engine suggests the nearest available dates when a guest's preferred stay cannot be booked. Guests with flexibility can adjust their plans and continue searching without starting again.

Book multiple rooms in one basket

Families and guests travelling together can select several rooms within a single booking.

They add rooms and rates to a basket, review their choices together and complete the reservation in one flow. This makes arranging a stay for several people more straightforward.

Manage three languages from one place

The Schweizerhof Zermatt website runs in German, English and French, managed through the same Hotelwize admin console.

The hotel team can update content, publish offers and manage translations without requesting development work for routine changes. Hotelwize also supports central management of multiple websites, giving hospitality teams a shared workspace as their portfolio grows.

Manage website content with ChatGPT and Claude

Through the Hotelwize MCP, the marketing team can use ChatGPT or Claude to manage website content in everyday language.

They can request a page update, prepare an offer or translate text in their preferred language, using the website's existing content and structure as a starting point. Changes are saved in Hotelwize Builder as drafts, ready for review and publication, keeping the team in control of what goes live.

Built for guests and the team behind the website

The migration gives Schweizerhof Zermatt a faster website, a more flexible booking experience and simpler day-to-day content management.

Guests have more ways to find and book a suitable stay. The hotel team has the tools to keep the website current and support its direct booking strategy.
